3 day yacht charter from Phuket: the itinerary, day by day

The loop below is the base plan; the captain handles navigation, sets the anchorages for wind and tide and can reorder the days. The legs are short, so sailing yachts and catamarans at seven knots cover it as well as a motor yacht.

Day 1, Phang Nga Bay. Board at Ao Po Grand Marina on the north-east coast in the morning and cross into the bay: Koh Hong, 18 km from Ao Po, with its lagoon by kayak on a mid tide, James Bond Island and the stilt village of Koh Panyee. Day 2, Krabi. East to Hong Island (Krabi), with the white beach and the inner lagoon inside Than Bok Khorani National Park, reached before the tour boats arrive after ten; then the Four Islands, Poda, Koh Gai, Tup and Railay. Day 3, Phi Phi and home. How the price works: the second night costs less than the first

A three-day charter is never a day rate multiplied by three. The two-day rate carries the boat, the crew living aboard and the first night, and on most boats each further night adds about half of that figure: the Pina Colada steps from ฿100,000 for two days to ฿200,000 for four, Beluga 88 from ฿428,000 to ฿856,000. The exception is Leopard 51 Se La Vie, where the second night nearly doubles the figure: ฿180,000 for two days and ฿340,000 for three, in high season. Say Yes and Sofia publish high-season and peak figures only and quote May to October on request.

If three days is one too many, two days and one night covers one area well, Phang Nga Bay or Phi Phi; one too few, and four days and three nights adds the Racha islands or a second night at Phi Phi. 3 day yacht charter Phuket: what the rate includes on a multi-day charter

Every boat in the catalogue, ours and partner boats alike, includes the captain and crew, fuel for the agreed route except where the yacht's page lists a fuel fee, passenger insurance, water and soft drinks, snorkelling gear and towels, with 7% VAT inside the figure. The crew stays aboard, three on the Pina Colada and seven on the Westport 130 Sea Bear, usually with a hostess; water sports gear and every other inclusion follow the yacht's page, and the general list is on the what is included page.

The hotel transfer depends on the boat, and the yacht's page says which: Myra, OO7 and The Origin 90 include a return transfer on overnight charters, Beluga one vehicle for up to ten guests; Pina Colada, the Astrea, St Anna, the Sambuca and Siam Princess do not. Paid separately on every boat: national park fees where the loop enters a park, charged per person on arrival; the parks revise their rates from time to time, so we confirm the current figure with your quote.

Cabins and overnight guests versus day guests

Two numbers on every yacht's page decide the group size: day capacity is the licensed number for a daytime trip, overnight capacity the berths in guest cabins, always lower: Siam Princess 70 takes fifty by day and twelve overnight. Count everyone who sleeps aboard, children included, and ask for the cabin plan: Say Yes has three king-size cabins and a twin, Sofia two king and two twin, Beluga two king, one queen and one twin with five bathrooms, the Pina Colada three guest cabins and a separate crew cabin; on the Astondoa the rate includes eight guests and a ninth and tenth pay ฿20,000 a night each.

Three couples fit the Cranchi 58, the Princess 65, the Riva 70 Aria Blue or the Azimut 55 After 8, each with three cabins; two families take the Astrea 42, St Anna or Aurora, four cabins for eight; ten to twelve guests need The Origin 90, the Westport or Siam Princess 70. Most sailing catamarans in the catalogue are day boats, so ask which take guests overnight.

Meals and the chef on board

On eighteen boats in the table breakfast, lunch and dinner are in the overnight rate: Say Yes, Sofia and St Anna with a private chef; Myra, OO7 and The Origin 90 with a chef who joins for overnight trips; Aurora with a hostess and a private chef; the Sambuca, Siam Princess 70, the Azimut 55, the Cranchi, the Princess 65, the Riva, the Westport and the Bertram 50 with all three meals listed; the Astondoa with a private chef in the crew line.

Beluga 88 prices food separately: a chef for a multi-day charter is ฿10,000 and the menu ingredients ฿1,050 or ฿1,750 for each guest. The Astrea 42 lists a menu at ฿500 for each guest for each day for six or more, or a personal chef at ฿4,000 for each day.

Seasons and the monsoon loop

Low season, May to October, carries the starting rates in the table; high season, November to April, costs more; the peak around New Year is set by each yacht. On Say Yes, Sofia and Beluga 88 it runs from 20 December to 20 January and peak bookings are non-refundable; Myra, OO7 and The Origin 90 charge one rate outside a peak from 15 December 2026 to 31 January 2027. From May to October the south-west monsoon brings wind and swell to the Andaman Sea in bands. The loop still runs, but the destination follows the sea: the captain keeps it on the sheltered east side, Phang Nga Bay and Krabi, and adds Phi Phi and the Racha islands when the morning allows. If the Thai Marine Department closes the port, you choose a full refund or a new date; if the booked route is not workable, the captain offers another for the same day with no refund for the change, as the booking terms state.

The Similan Islands as a 3-day option when the park is open

Between 15 October and mid-May the same three days can go north. The Similan Islands by private yacht are about 119 km from Chalong Pier, inside Mu Ko Similan National Park, closed from 16 May to 15 October; the crossing is why they are sold only as two days or more with the nights at a mooring buoy. Cranchi 58 Scenery, Princess 65 and Riva 70 Aria Blue each add a Similan fuel surcharge of ฿40,000 to their three-day rate; the Bali 41 takes the run on request for ฿25,700 extra, and the Jawsss prices the park as four days from ฿459,900.
